CHOLESTEROL+ is composed of Indian barberry, black garlic, fermented red rice, coenzyme Q10, resveratrol, niacin and folic acid.

Indian barberry has a cholesterol-lowering action thanks to the berberine it contains. It can reduce levels of cholesterol due to an action that is different from that of statins (drugs used to reduce cholesterol), as it increases the activity and the number of LDL hepatic receptors, facilitating their removal from blood. Furthermore, berberine is able to reduce the liver’s production of glucose, improve insulin sensitivity and glucose absorption in the blood by cells and reduce blood levels.


Black garlic, along with Indian barberry, helps protect the cardiovascular system. In fact, it lowers cholesterol levels thanks to S-allyl cysteine, reducing one of the risk factors of cardiovascular diseases. The black garlic contained in CHOLESTEROL+ is a standardized extract in S- allyl cysteine (ABG10+). In this way, the content of the active ingredient, S-allyl cysteine, is significantly greater than that of white or black garlic. The result is a compound with a higher polyphenol content and proven cardioprotective properties, which have the special characteristic of being odourless and flavourless.


Fermented red rice s fermented common rice obtained from Monascus purpureus strains, also called red yeast due to its colour. During fermentation, yeast is enriched with monacolins, a group of cholesterol-lowering substances, including monacolin K. Its structure is similar to lovastatin, a drug of the statin class, but its lipid-lowering activities seem to be higher compared with lovastatin, thanks to synergic activity between the various constituents of red fermented rice. Monacolin inhibits HMGCoA reductase, a key enzyme in the biosynthesis of cholesterol. Fermented red rice has proved effective in normalizing the levels of total cholesterol, LDL cholesterol and triglycerides. A side effect is a reduction in the levels of Coenzyme Q10, which are quickly restored by Coenzyme Q10 present in CHOLESTEROL+.


CHOLESTEROL+ also contains Resveratrol, which, besides being a powerful antioxidant, plays an active role in reducing LDL cholesterol and prevents cardiovascular and heart diseases.
