The Salomon Sense Escape is a running shoe that’s designed for the neutral pronator who wants to take to the trails. The façade has been designed to follow the form and the look of a road shoe, but the outsole has an aggressive construction that is best for uneven paths.
The upper unit features a layered mesh with small ventilation pores for a breezy in-shoe experience. The external Sensifit™ overlay system offers a snug and secure wrap. Shiny accents and varying color schemes heighten the visual flair of this running shoe.
Underfoot cushioning is provided by a set of cushioning systems that work together. The combination of these compounds sanctions the wearer to experience a soft and responsive ride. The external layer of the platform has an aggressive design that’s meant to ensure grip over the surfaces.
Salomon Sense Escape size and fit
The Salomon Sense Escape was designed using the standard measurements. Lengthwise, it follows the usual choices of consumers. The women’s version has a width profile of B – Medium while the men’s iteration features the D – Medium option. The semi-curved shape of the last accommodates the natural curve of the human foot.
Premium Wet Traction Contagrip® is the name of the material that’s used for the outsole unit. This rubber compound offers protection against wear and tear. It also doles out traction over dry and wet surfaces.
Aggressive gripping lugs that face different directions heighten grip over uneven and unpredictable terrains. These protrusions make it easy for runners to tackle ascents and d
The midsole unit of the Salomon Sense Escape makes use of the EnergyCell+ foam. This full-length material offers durable cushioning and energy return. It’s also designed to withstand early breakdown and sagging.
A separate cushioning unit is placed in the heel section of the platform. Also known as the OPAL, this add-on provides a bit more cushioning and bounciness to the ride. It doesn’t have a substantial weight, so the runner won’t be able to notice its presence.
The fusion of the EnergyCell+ and the OPAL results in the VIBE cushioning design, which takes advantage of the two foams’ properties to deliver a comfortable, steady, and shock-absorbent ride.
A Molded EVA sock liner contours the shape of the underfoot, giving support to the arch and other curves that don’t usually get any cushioning. It can be replaced or removed entirely.
A layered mesh is used for the upper unit of the Salomon Sense Escape. The purpose of this configuration is to prevent debris from entering the foot-chamber while also enabling breathability.
The Sensifit™ system is an intricately placed set of overlays that ensure a snug yet unfettered coverage. It is made out of a thin material that doesn’t impede the smooth and uncluttered look of the silhouette. It also directly connects to the lacing system.
The semi-flat laces permit the runner to adjust the fit and get the preferred in-shoe experience.
The tongue and collar are lightly padded. This construction prevents hot spots and tightness, yet it also prevents the foot from wobbling or exiting the shoe unexpectedly.
